|Description:||The Training Specialist will identify training needs, develop training plans, curriculum development, conduct/coordinate training programs in response to those needs, monitor attendance and evaluate participants. Will also coach and counsel in interpersonal issues to encourage effective training solutions. Provide advisory service to property regarding training and development. Will develop training materials, progress reports, and track training participation. Will conduct needs analysis and develop monthly training reports on progress. Will provide training assistance in relation to Human Resources programs including, but not limited to, progressive discipline, performance appraisal, effective communication, and all Human Resource policies and procedures. Will develop, implement, and track new hire orientation programs. Work in collaboration with other departments regarding training needs, scheduling, and new training development. Will also oversee the development of the Training Library/Learning Resource Center.|
•Applies positive communication, interpersonal, and leadership skills with guests, (internal and external), at all times.
•Insures all employees attend New Hire Orientation and tracks development and content of the orientation process.
•Develops the training schedule on a yearly basis, develops a running calendar, and makes projections and accommodations for training modules and sessions.
•Researches new training ideas and theories, assessing suitability for the property.
•Assists in preparing the annual budget for the training and development section of Human Resources.
•Must have the ability to work independently and with little supervision.
•Responsible for the development and delivery of comprehensive training programs to management and staff.
•Experience in curriculum development and delivery required with emphasis in classroom and web-based training using instructional design methods.
•Must demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication and presentation skills with a variety of audiences; effective project management skills.
•3 years experience in training either in a vocational, college, technical, or multiple-site organizations, with an emphasis in casino industry, gaming, entertainment, hospitality industries or related industry.
•Must be able to assess learning capabilities, develop training strategies, track desired training objectives and results.
•Intermediate computer literacy skills required.
•College degree preferred in field related to training, sociology, psychology, business administration.
•Certification in training instruction, “train the trainer”, or from national professional training associations desired.
•Prior supervisory/management experience preferred.
•Prior human resources knowledge and experience preferred.
