The Slot Technician I will analyze and respond to a variety of customer service related issues. Technicians are responsible for the repair and maintenance of component level electronic circuitry in gaming devices. Day to day repair and preventative maintenance of all slot machines installed at Soboba Casino. The technician’s role is to ensure maximum performance and reduce machine downtime through preventative maintenance. Minor repairs of machines may be required during the preventive maintenance service time.


• The ability to effectively communicate with team members.

• The ability to organize/prioritize work, meet deadlines, work with minimal supervision and
multiple interruptions.

• The ability to operate a power drill, electronic test equipment, solder and move and repair gaming Devices.

• The ability to walk/stand and work 90% of shift and work in unfavorable conditions which can occasionally be hot and noisy.

Duties:The ability to lift the maximum of 150lb. to a height of 2 feet on an intermittent basis
• Responds to slot machines in a timely manner to resolve guest complaints regarding technical problems with slot machines.

• Verifies that all slot games communicate accurately with internal systems for accounting purposes; researches and resolves issues that arise with same.

• Participates in Slot Department special projects in a team environment by interpreting gaming documents, gathering materials, necessary to complete the project, including RAM clears, key chipping, machine moves, conversions, and upgrades.



Duties and Responsibilities

• Responsible for the installation, removal, conversion relocation of gaming device.

• Day to day preventative maintenance on gaming devices and signs.

• Responsible for the break-down, relocation, and set-up of relocated slot machines and stands.
• Troubleshooting of ticketing equipment.

• Clear bill acceptor jams and performs emergency drops.

• Assist in game conversions and firmware upgrades.

• Troubleshoot IGT Advantage Accounting System.

• Investigates and verify any ticket issues.

• Coordinate with and assist Slot Section Supervisors.

• Maintain inventory of supplies needed to perform job functions.

• Notifies Slot Lead Technician and/or Slot Technical Manager of pertinent issues as needed.

• Maintains working knowledge of all local jurisdictional gamin laws (Federal, state, and local) and attendant regulations as well as company internal controls.

• Maintains a working knowledge of all games in order to perform repairs and/or preventative maintenance.

• Removes slot machines from the floor; installs new machines or relocates machines as the need arises. Repairs and maintains slot drop cabinets, seats and armrest.

• Repairs locks, reel mechanisms and all related mechanical parts of the slot machine.

• Maintains general cleanliness in the technical work area.

• Kobetron gaming devices with the Tribal Gaming Commission.

Qualifications:Skills/Abilities

• Knowledge of basic AC/DC electronics.

• Knowledge of basic computer networking.

• The ability to read, write, speak and understanding the English language to comprehend product labeling instructions, and to enable the safe applications of products and process.

• Knowledge of electronics/wiring to install, repair and modify electronics.

• The ability to multi task.

• The Ability to work independently and within a small group environment.



Education/ Qualifications

• High School diploma or equivalent

• Previous experience in a slot technical position preferred

• Possess basic motor skills and troubleshooting techniques, possess limited knowledge of all forms of gaming equipment, system components and Slot Department signage and strong organizational skills to function effectively under time constraints with particular attention to detail and quality of service.


Certificates, licenses and registration

• Ability to obtain and maintain Gaming Commission license.

• Required to submit to and obtain negative results on all drug and/or alcohol testing.
